PARAN
Esta es parte de un email suyo: "Over the last few years I have come to the conclusion that ETS is not the best solution for patients with FB".
Su pagina web ha sido cambiada a estas palabras: "Accumulated experience shows that patients with facial sweating and/or facial blushing are more prone to develop severe compensatory sweating. Dr. Reisfeld at present advises all patients to try all other options before considering surgical intervention. " Dr Reisfeld http://www.sweaty-palms.com/sweaty_armpit_sweating.html
Another clinical observation which will need more time for verification is the thought that the higher failure rate of sympathectomy when ETS is done only for facial blushing has to do with the fact that when the sympathectomies were done in the past for
vascular problems the success rate was very minimal. At this time we know that higher failure rate was due to a clinical situation which we call denervation
hypersensitivity. In essense the blood vessels become very sensitive to certain circulating hormones within the blood
system. Dr. Reisfeld believes that the same phenomenon happens in this facial blushing
presentation. More time and more clinical experience is needed before there can be a more definite
conclusion.

-------- El Cirujano Toracico Garza tambien se une a esto -----------------------------------------
Dr Garza's admission about CS means the risk of developing "severe" CS was much higher that the 5% we were quoted. This is evidenced in his comments "usually will develop" and in his description of CS itself:
"Those who undergo a T2 or T2 + T3 sympathectomy usually will develop severe compensatory sweating after the
operation"

""Armpit sweating, generalized sweating: These sweating types are the most common. Usually these should not be treated surgically, even though there today is already a means to reduce armpit sweating, too. These generalized forms are best treated either locally with Botox treatment or with medication."" http://www.privatix.fi/index.shtml?&a=0&s=navig_02&l=en&d=07_sweating

The Whiteley Clininc [UK] that states,
"Although ETS has been use for axillary hyperhidrosis, it is unwise to do so if axillary hyperhidrosis is the only problem. ETS will stop sweating the whole of the arm and hand as well as the axilla and so the risks of compensatory hyperhidrosis are too great for this to be a usual
option."
