Hi all, this is a collection of pictures of my TiVo modified to accept a PAL tuner, in my case I used a Phillips FI1246MKII taken from a PCTV card. (Sorry for the size, they are good quality)
PICTURE ONE PICTURE TWO PICTURE THREEI’ve modified as well the code in Tridge’s palmod to suit Spanish frequencies
Spanish
palmodI’ve written a little tool (it’s a excel page) to write the division values if you want to modify palmod.c to suit your own frequency
Tivo.xlsIf you want to recompile palmod.c to suit your needs, just grab Tridge’s cross compiler and "make" palmod
I will increase the contents of this page shortly (I’m now in the middle of a business trip), my main focus is to let people be able to use NTSC TiVo in a PAL country. The only limitation is that you won’t be able to get guide data. Other than that you will have the nicest digital VCR in the world.
Update 26/02/01
Hi all, a lot has happened since my last update, I have helped a couple of people to modify their tivos to pal, if you want my help just drop me an
e-mail. Now my main thing is the tivo to isa converter and the Ethernet, i’ve successfully done it and now I’m on tailoring my tivo to use the Ethernet potential. If you want to do it just go to Tridge’s site and read all, Mark is selling boards and gals. Some interesting photos:
Mi tivo to isa converter (so called tivonet... who invented this?) The cable i used to program the gal (only if you need it)Three pictures of my tivo:
