Margalis of the Blue Waters: Peace and Honor

Margalis is an ancient being, who counts herself as one of the True Gods. Greatly weakened by the gift of Song Magic endowed on the mortals she is the first of the True Gods to regain widespread worship. Before the Domination wars she was a powerful, though reclusive, natural force and a key to the initial creation of the elementals. When the elementals appeared, Margalis allied Herself with some representatives of the element of Water, and even through the great wars the affiliation remains; followers of Margalis can only become mages of the Blue Sands.

Her followers’ philosophy tends to be rather neutral to others in many respects. They hold no prejudice, although they look down on those who make their way through life by encouraging bloodshed and strife. However, they are not easily swayed to one’s side, either. If a follower of Margalis takes you as a friend, you have a friend for life... but it takes a lot for them to earn such a friendship and all followers will stand by it.

Her avatars appear as ocelots, and all cats are considered her messengers and therefore the symbol of peace.

Her symbol is a cat’s silhouette against a rising sun.

Sinlari: Compassion and Mercy

Following the turmoil of the Aros Wall’s creation there was a great need for healing and refuge and it was found in the embrace of Sinlari.

Her values are simple: she will forgive and forget any crime, flaw, blemish, illness, regardless of creed color. Anybody willing to worship wholeheartedly, she will give them freely her protection, blessing, and understanding. This includes the terminally sick and those seeking refuge for fear of their lives and those who are persecuted by society for whatever reason, law or otherwise. In exchange, her patrons will spread her word and the most devout will forsake all life they had before her, dedicating their lives to the preserving and healing of others and to showing understanding to all before judging them. The use of any violence is not tolerated. Those who accept her must accept these terms, any who she judges to have acted wrongly after accepting these terms will be thrown from her ranks to be forever looked upon with disdain.

Her shrine will oftentimes be found near places where judgements are passed in the hope of forgiveness, also her name is spoken in times of threat or danger by those who know of her. She opposes the ethics and gods of war and is passionate in her contempt for those who worship death. If ever some person needs help, the temple and her patrons will readily help, however the lawless are asked to beg for Sinlari’s forgiveness. Those who refuse are refused the sanction of the house.

Her heart is at a city called Lori which is dedicated to her, a place of peace and forgiveness. This mystic city’s location is unknown to all those that are not in the fold of her faith. It is said that the city is the most wondrous place any have set their eyes on. You heart must be fully dedicated to the beliefs of Sinlari to ever hope to see the wonders of Lori.

Her symbol is a blue field with two arms outstretched in a gesture of acceptance.

Alexalanamanara: Life and Innocence

Alexalanamanara is one of the oldest of the True Gods. When Aros was young she often played with her powers, taking different animals and combining their life-forces to make new creatures for her to love and nurture. And so the races came to be.

Her close interactions with the inhabitants of Aros brought her attention to a powerful and princely figure. Against the advice of the most of the other gods she wed a human called Grim. Grim was the God of Death disguised as a human and through his twisted counseling they made new creatures combining both of their powers. These new creatures were humans without a soul, collectively known as the Remnants. They were evil without pity and began to terrorize all of the inhabitants of Aros. She soon realized her mistake and left Grim. They have been enemies ever since.

Alexalanamanara's worshippers cherish all life. They are most commonly healers.

Her symbol is a baby holding an ear of corn in one hand and a mouse in the other.

Odimus: Wisdom and Law

Odimus is one of the weaker gods that found that Aros needed him after the War of Domination. No longer was Aros a place where mortals lived in peace. The elemental war created a separation in the species. Those that followed the elements and those that didn’t. Now there was need for the development of laws.

All major cities have a temple devoted to Odimus. He is one of the few gods that is widely accepted throughout the land between all races. It is in his temple where all offenders are tried for their crimes and given punishment.

His symbol is a blue triangle with a single eye inside it inside an inverted black triangle on a white background.

Shanral: Truth and Love

His symbol is a silver and golden ring intertwined on a white background.

Neutral

Ventor: Strength and Loyalty

His symbol is a white sword crossing a red shield on a background of yellow.

Angus the Forest Keeper: Nature and Growth

Angus is the avatar of nature and the guardian of the forests and one of the True Gods. Although not overtly hostile towards men, he protects the forest from uncontrolled encroachment of men. His priests have very little to do with civilized affairs unless they impact adversely on the wilderness within their charge. They sometimes aid trappers, hunters, and foresters provided that they observe restraint in their harvest of the fruits of the wilderness.

His symbol is a white stag on a field of green.

Ellikim: Luck and Chaos

No one really knows when Ellikim came into being. He fiddles with the lives of all. Though he is a lesser God, he has a much more active role in everyone’s' day to day lives. He may be worshipped by any. His ways are secretive and discreet. Few understand why the things he does are done, but all have purpose, none are without meaning . . .no matter how small.

Evil

Talkom: Treachery and Deceit

His symbol is a dagger with a red tip on a black background.

Grim: Death and Cruelty

Grim came into being at the same time as Alexalanamanara did. Most of the gods took an immediate disliking to him. He didn't care. In fact, the feeling was mutual. In order to increase his power, he decided to seduce Alexalanamanara and trick her into making minions for him. This worked for a time. The creations made were called Remnants, Grim’s lead followers and his instruments on Aros. Through these Remnants and the power they hold Grim is a real threat on Aros and is feared widely.

Grim’s worshippers have no life in their bodies. They wear a pure black skull around their necks or waists. It is this skull that contains their life-force. They can't be killed unless the skull is destroyed. If the skull is destroyed, they die. Some followers have begun to leave their skulls in a safe place but this is greatly frowned upon by the Remnants and is now a well known practice.

His symbol is a black skull on a white background.

Theos: War and Conflict

His banner is blood crimson with no insignia.

Milak: Fear and Retribution

His banner is a rectangle divided diagonally by a serpent with black on top of red.
