PETRA

The Capital of the Nabataeans

The ruins of Petra, the old capital of the Nabataeans, are hiden among huge rocky cliffs in the middle of the Jordan Desert. They form one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to.

Lots of people have seen images of Petra. Where?. Do you remember the film "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" ?. In this film Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) rides on a horse through a narrow canyon and when he reaches the end of it he finds himself in front of a temple excavated in the stone walls. Inside of this temple he discovers the Holy Grail. This incredible stone temple is called Khazneh and can be visited at the ruins of Petra.

The first five photos are taken at the canyon that leads to Petra and at Khazneh's temple. The last two pictures are taken at Ad-Dier's Temple another incredible temple of Petra, where you can arrive climbing through a little way among enormous rocks.
