Finally my wish come true. I've seen The Essence playing live on stage. It was on may 27th in Barcelona, where I'm living now.

My friends and I arrived quite soon to the club, and the doors were still closed. We decided to have a beer before the gig, and went to a bar near the club. We didn't know, but the band was having dinner there. And we didn't see them! I was standing at door with my girlfriend when I saw Hans going out from the bar and coming to the club. He gently signed me on the cover of the CD.

We came into the club. There was a lot of people more than I've expected. " This gonna be a great gig" I thought.
Everybody knows that when a band finishes the gig, you can fight for getting the paper with the set list. Fine. Nuria, a friend of mine, also knows it...and she decided to take the set list BEFORE the gig. Hans was going mad after every song for knowing what song was coming next. But all the members of the band are really excellent persons, and they signed her on the set list after the gig. Hans told me they're recording a new album, so look for it in a few months.

I had a camera with me, but I was enjoying so much with the songs that I completely forgot that I could take photos. I took two photos at the last song. My girlfriend doesn't like music very much, so she went home after the last song...taking the camera with her!!! I talked with Hans later, I could have now a photograph from me with the band, but then I already hadn't the camera. Oh, hell!!! But now...another problem: I took two photos, but only one is good, the other photo is too clear in the negative to get a printed copy. I've scanned directly the negative with my hand scanner at 2400 DPI, aplied negatives, histogram functions, channel splitting, color filters, and got an image where you can "guess" something. Here there are the good photo and the scanned image.

What can I say? The gig was really great, they sounded fine, the set included the most well known songs from every album (one of my favourites is "The death cell"), not only from their last... And when they played "A mirage" the whole audience was singing with them. What a surprise!!! even Hans said: "Why we never played here before?".

Hey, Ton, I'm sorry you couldn't come. May be next time? I want a new gig!!!
