In
1967 I was very proud to be awarded and receive the accolade of An 'Approved
Medium' of the Spiritualist Association of Great Britain. In the days
of presidents like Ralph Rossiter one had to pass muster of the strictest
kind. But Spiritualism, like most things has changed somewhat and the title
Approved Medium does not have the same status as hitherto; neither does it
carry the same commitment such as I still hold to. Among the reasons (and
perhaps the main one) is that today we constantly find that folk want to 'do
it all yesterday(') and become a medium at the drop of a hat.
However, I actually began my ministry in 1948 and 2003 marks my fifty-fourth
year as an international demonstrating and teaching medium. Over these long
years I have traversed the whole of the psychic spectrum. My constant search
for knowledge becomes very apparent when I am demonstrating and or giving
students, etc. instruction. Notwithstanding, I still seek more knowledge daily,
most of which, it should be said is 'given' to me during my nightly sleep.
This comes via my Spiritual Teachers known as The Manna Group, (Tuan) my Doorkeeper,
AKA guardian angel and my many spirit helpers. Each of these is totally compatible
with me and extremely able in their chosen field either as demonstrators,
teachers or guardians.
Tip!
Interestingly, when I began my training for Spiritual Healing I was required
to watch and assist only by giving power (energy) to the healers working and
I was not allowed to actually touch anyone for almost a year! Today's
people though would not stand for such strictures as were placed upon me but
if you want to do it right...
Today, someone might put his or her hands on for instance, somebody's head.
Then, if the pain goes they are apt to declare themselves, immediately,
a healer! Know that, even though some 'mediums' boast such things in
their adverts, there really is no such thing as a finite 'six easy lessons
course' even for we 'born' mediums.

Of Tip
I have always had a job or a business too and I never have, and still do not, believe that one should live entirely from one's mediumship. The possible exception is for those mediums who possess an unusual and superbly specific and rare ever-developing talent (gift). Even then though, I caution the pacing of oneself in mediumship, which is something I have always done. This is the reason, I am sure, why I am still, apart from my public physical séances, up and running as ever I was.
I
reiterate! Today most do not want to go the hard way to its achievement. As
such, here I apply the old adage attributed to the Muses of Thessaly: "A
little learning is a dangerous thing, drink deep or touch not the Pierian
Spring." So listen up you new guys! On starting out do develop the habit
of pacing yourselves too. Then, like me, you may well in the future go beyond
my soon to be seventy-two years 'young' and still, as I do, enjoy every minute
of the work. The secret is to never be afraid of admitting that you don't
know something. Have the integrity and an intrepid attitude to succeed and
to work toward an ever increasing, ability level. This way you will only give
the highest and the best you possibly can. Further, throughout your life you
need to be as happy working with Spirit* as you were when you gave your first
bit survival evidence.
*Spirit, so often quoted by
those who ought to know better, never uses a genuinely good medium - they
work with them.

One should also be aware, indeed know that our Doorkeeper is our only personal guide. He or she never undertakes any work other than protection, i.e. guarding their charge's 'door' and allowing access only to necessary, helpful and wanted entities - all others are warned off. But they can only work that way if we trust them to put us right instead of just willy-nilly trying to contact Spirit or be used as they please. (Many are the exorcisms I have conducted due to this type of behaviour.)
Our
freewill and personal responsibility is, through natural law individually
unique to each of us. That alone prevents any intrusion by the Doorkeeper
upon our freewill and the reverse also applies. So we must ask to receive
correctly and not just cast our net anywhere that the fancy takes us.

Tip! (Always think of Spirit as human
beings, which is what they are - the only difference is that they no longer
have a physical body!) Now visualise the d/k's problem. He or she, unable
to help, watches while you almost stupidly and catastrophically undo their
protection. Through freewill, unable to intervene, they might on occasions
be seen, figuratively speaking, tearing their hair out.) End
of Tip. We also have Spirit Helpers who assist
us in our spirit tasks when working in that particular. Because they can work
better this way, they will lower (or raise) their 'vibration' accordingly
to that of the medium and contacts. It is this that gives some mediums, able
to receive such changes a stronger communication level. In this way they focus
more correctly on what is being transmitted. Further, such helpers tend, contrary
to the guide-groups (such as "The Manna Group") retain both their
nationality and personality. There are also 'Floating' helpers,
as my Teachers call them. These are brought in to carry out specific tasks
and are not a helper in the 'ours' sense. They may undertake anything from
a do-it-yourself job to explaining the complexity of something philosophical
or very complicated to which they know, or will find, the answer. (An example!
The scientist or whoever will, thinking that without any outside help, he
or she has personally solved their difficult problem and shouts "Eureka
I have found it!" How little they really know… Then there are
more developed entities commonly termed the higher or enlightened ones. These
are Guides and they are not 'owned' by anyone. We don't have our 'own' collection
of guides - I reiterate - we only have one - the rest are helpers!
These guides have come together in much the same way as a club and have left
behind, albeit retaining their individuality, both their nationality and personality.
They work as a team and only ever identify themselves by their chosen group
name, which in my case is "The Manna Group". It is such as these
who are the true guides and they, like all such groups teach throughout the
world through different mediums from different cultures. They are not 'mine'
in the same way as I might refer to Tuan ('my' Doorkeeper) or any of 'my'
Spirit Helpers. With such elevated guide-groups they are, in short, simply
recognised by the old adage, to whit "By their words shall ye know them…" Therefore, be wary of the entity
that claims to be such a personage as "Joseph of Arimathea" the
angel "Gabriel", the "Queen of Atlantis", "The Master
John" or whatever and more especially, if they 'order' you to call them
by their name. These often like posers 'show off' by making what are in real
terms, logically the most ridiculous pronouncements that are believed by gullible
'mediums' and public alike. If such entities are genuine they will not be
announcing themselves by their birth name (long left behind) but by their
group one and or will prove their enlightenment by what they say and how they
say it. Alternatively, if they really were such personages as they
claim then, after some 2000 years 'dead', what price their spiritual
progress? In my long experience I have never
known entities such as The Manna Group to make an entrance via the normal
trance-state. If they do, then the 'medium' or medium as the case may be,
is probably committing conscious, or maybe even unconscious fraud,
in believing that they are in trance or receiving even clairaudiently,
the words of Teaching Guides. Indeed, I have heard and been sent recordings
and transcripts of such 'wondrous beings' as these. The dispensing of their
'philosophy' is more in keeping with a child's perspective of it, than one
(allegedly) of such illumined propensity. So, remember to "Test the Spirits
to see that they of The Truth" Or as Tuan says: "What you cannot
believe from within you shall never believe from without."
The genuine ones will have progressed enough not to be interested in the earth
plane on a materialistic or pseudo philosophical level. (For instance, in
my own case such control is totally different to normal trance. Manna 'melt'
into me rather than transform, as do my spirit helpers.) The vibration energy
they use, a prerequisite of any spirit contact is of a different kind and
it is far more powerful than that of our helpers. In addition, these, unlike
our spirit helpers who announce themselves, do not do so - they wait a few
moments. Then, if they are not acknowledged, because of the energy required
from both medium and themselves to hold the body, they will withdraw again.
So, don't be misled, for once on the slippery slope of spirit deception, it's
a very difficult path to get off.
For those of you interested in (and more especially developing) Physical Mediumship I think that you'll find the following worth the read…
For many years I demonstrated both group and public transfiguration. However, early in the 80's I began to feel that the ectoplasm needed for quality physical séances was not as good as that enjoyed previously. My Spirit Teachers confirmed this and added that I had by then anyway done quite enough actual physical séances and perhaps even more than I should have. Accordingly in the early 80's, although I still do normal trance work, I 'retired' from all public and group transfiguration demonstrations. I still occasionally though, when the conditions are 'right' demonstrate this talent (gift) in my student circles.
On
my retiring, "Funny Eye", a Native American Indian who controlled
me and conducted these séances never came through again for a number
of years. Then unexpectedly, during one of my student circles around 1998,
the spirit circle leader "Running Water" said that he wanted to
allow an old friend of mine to control. As he left the body in came "Funny
Eye". He quickly identified himself and went on to say that he had moved
forward in his work. Stating that he is now a member of a more enlightened
group in Spirit who are dedicated to the re-awakening and development of our
future physical mediums, he then bade them and me too, farewell.

Transfiguration
is not as many think or understand it. Yes, it involves a trance state but
under 'normal' conditions the medium may, but not always transform, i.e. the
features and voice may change. This trance state can be easily achieved in
normal light but is, in reality, only transformation. Yu Sin for instance,
when 'trancing normal' is never bald, as in the infra red photos you will
see further down in this section - I get to 'keep' my hair! Therefore, this
trance state is not, and it must never be assumed that it is Transfiguration.
Tuan has said many times: "Assumption is not fact!"
On the other side of the coin with Transfiguration proper, a low wattage red
lamp is directed at the medium's face and because ectoplasm is employed, fully
blacked out rooms, etc. are conditionally a must so as not to cause harm to
the medium. (It can be dangerous in the wrong hands and in the 60's at a very
prominent psychic centre a man, thinking I was using stage make-up, shone
a torch on my face while an entity was controlling. I was unconscious for
about 45 minutes and his action caused severe 'psychic burning' to my face.
I still have these and whenever I am stressed they flare up, becoming both
very raw and sore to the touch.

Tip!
If you are developing any kind of physical work and one day go public, remember
that today most mediums' have minders. So if you don't have one, get one!
These are apt to search everyone before entering the séance room. So
ensure that they do it every time and avoid what was for me, a very unpleasant
experience.

continue! The medium enters into trance and a known entity (the medium's spirit
helper) will usually, from then on, control the whole séance. Having
already established the necessary conditions on the 'other side' with the
medium's doorkeeper, he or she will then allow the entities to control the
medium.
During the 'entry-state' of an entity a mask constructed with ectoplasm drawn
from the medium, the sitters ('audience') and Spirit is moulded over the face
and head of him or her with the result that incredible changes take place.

infra red flash during a Transfiguration Séance…
These quite clearly show two of my helpers bald headed and with totally different faces but as you can see in Home Page, at nearly 72 I still have a full head of hair!) Also Yu Sin demonstrates how the body can be manipulated and changed by Spirit. He will still but mostly only in student groups do such things as alter, quicken or slow to different speeds both wrist pulses simultaneously. As the two pulse takers count, each will go faster or slower than the other, causing both surprise and amusement to those looking on. He can also, while the hands are gripped very hard and without any perceptible movement, make one hand as much as an inch longer than the other. Compare my left hand, in both photos taken one after the other. Then look at Yu Sin's fingers on the right hand. It can be seen that they look somewhat like bananas whereas in both of the other pictures my right hand is seen its normalsmall size.
Séance
operation continued… As this goes on the same process is effected with
all of the different entities that 'come through' and these are not just 'unknown'
spirit entities. Family members and friends of the sitters are foremost and
while 'visiting' they are easily recognised. These changes are clearly seen
by virtually everyone. Such changes and entities continue 'in and out' of
the medium's body until the séance is ended by the control (in my case
"Funny Eye") when the medium is returned to full consciousness.
In my own case during a séance of, on average two and a half-hours,
some 30 to 40 entities would normally control. Not all were able to use my
voice box and if they were unable to speak, they would identify themselves
by holding up my hand and 'writing' their name and or other evidences on my
palm.
Tip:
A medium in physical work becomes very dehydrated. The hands seem to show
this most of all as they look just like an old person's who carries very little
body weight. After each séance I, personally, would gulp down some
three pints of water, often from a jug. However, my recovery time was very
rapid and within five minutes or so I would be fully re-energised and ready
for a cup of tea and a chat.

Most other physical mediums I knew then could take as long as an hour to fully
recover but I did not want this. Accordingly, my biochemistry was adjusted
by Spirit to accommodate me. I am told by my teachers that today, such bio
changes are a part of the physical medium's development. Colin Fry in particular
comes to mind and does have, as did I then (and for that matter still do)
a very rapid recovery time after his physical séances.
To develop such talents takes a lot of time, dedication and the love of other
sitters to concentrate their power (energy) on just one person. Sadly, today
everyone wants to develop something rapidly solely for him or herself. Consequently,
the old days where many groups of people would happily sit for one medium's
development for maybe as much as seven years are long gone. This clearly demonstrates
one of the many reasons, indeed probably the foremost one, as to why we do
not have to date more physical mediums. End of tip!
