It's always everywhere the same..... the "Green-Party" is involved in Austria, in Italy......

But we here in Austria think that the solution is not a certain distance from the installations between them and the houses but the respect of a prudent-avoidance-limit-value. When they go away from the houses with the mobile-phone-antennas, the providers rise up the the Watts and so you have no better situation for the public.

The "Salzburger Landessanitätsdirection" evaluated, at the base of the Röschke-study about REM-sleep, a prudent-avoidance-limit-value which is - the most of the time - respected in the city of Salzburg, the possibility to
phone is already here and you can see TV and look at the radio.....so, no problems..... you willl find more details in the englisch translation of our petition from 16.7.99 brought to the austrian parliament with the signature of a
Member of Parliament from the Greens, one of the SPÖ and one of the FPÖ.

We brought in this resolution at a second time on 30.11.99 (this was necessary due to the austrian elections on 3.10.), but the text was completed and is now by translation. At this second time, the resolution was
signed also by three Members of Parliament, but also by the Referent for environment medicine of the Austrian Chamber of Medicals, by "Ärzte für eine gesunde Umwelt", the "Umweltdachverband" and all the "Umweltanwälte" of Austria.
The reflexion exists to bring in this - or a similar - petition to the EU-Parliament with the signature of all countries member of the EU. What do you think about?

The ecologic association "Los Verdes" has denounced the proliferation of mobile telephone antennas in all the territory of the "autonomous community". The majority of the antennas do not have licenses from the city
authorities. According to this association, recently, the telephone companies have been wildly installing new antennas without respecting prudent distances between towers and houses, colleges and even health centers.
This has been done with the complete indifference of local and regional authorities. The ecologists mention that more and more research underlines the hazardous health effects of the EMF generated by power lines and mobile
telephone equipment.

The European Parlament has proposed to all member states to establish regulations to limit human exposure to EMF, based on research from prestigious European Universities. "Los Verdes" are urging both levels, local and autonomous community to take heed of the recommendations of the European Parlament.
Some of these recomendations are:
To determine the minimum distances between buildings, houses, workplaces and power lines, towers radars and cellular telephone repeating stations City authorities should directly supervise these types of antennas and their licenses to be installed.
