Some
history|
The German count, Ferdinand von
Zeppelin, devoted part of their life to
the construction of airships, the first, take off
in the year 1900. These gins were used during the
First World War. In the year 1928 the first
giant airship was constructed, it had 105.000
meters cubic, called LZ-127 and better known as
Graff Zeppelin . This zeppelin, which it is the
name that all this airships received, was utilized
for commercial purposes, especially for transatlantic fly. On March the
3rd of 1936 the LZ-129 Hindenburg, (the size
of which was upper to the Titanic) fell down
burned in the United States, this accident marked the end of the zeppelins era,
that they still fly even at the beginning of the Second
World War, the LZ130 Graz Zèppelin
II, it was the last one.
The
Graz Zeppelin and postcard history
From September of 1928, this zeppelin started to
carry passengers and also correspondence,
especially from Europe to America and return. The correspondence came out of
Friedichshafen, Germany. The Hungarian mail that
circulated these first years (1928-1930) him scarce, since there was not any
contract among the company Zeppelin and Hungary, and the mail was always
transported way third countries. From 1930, that the postal agreement was signed,
the Hungarian mail was accepted on board the zeppelins.

El first flight of year 1931 was in Hungary, by
this motive two stamps were issued, valid only
for the flight of the zeppelin: 1 pengo for
postcards and 2 pengo for
letters of the inner flight. 2 pengo for
cards and 3 pengo for
letters of the flight back, besides the corresponding normal postage.
On 28 March the Graz Zeppelin went out of
Friedrischshafen direction to Hungary , the day 29
for the morning arrived to Budapest with some 5000 documents of mail was
carried. The German post office put one mark
on board and another of arrival for the Hungarian mail, both in red colour.
During the 29th an itinerary had to make for the main cities dropping away the mail (as it was made it in the places not be able to land), but the bad weather it made change the program and the mail (some 32.000 documents) only was dropped at Debreczen, the correspondence carried, have a circular blue mark put with a gomígraf, two different variety are known for the form of the lines that the zeppelin takes. A part of the correspondence was returned to Budapest, this have two marks one of exit and that of arrival.
On March 29th it went out of Budapest of return towards in Germany, with the directed correspondence, some 6000 documents, out of Hungary to other countries, finishing on March 30th. A green mark of exit of the one that also they know two different variety marks, according to the number of windows of the boat of the drawn zeppelin.
During the years 1932 to 1936 the correspondence going out of Hungary via zeppelin, was marked with a violet "Zeppelin Utjan" for indicate this system of transportation. There is an another (same design) with a legends ZEPPELIN 1931.evi (top) and ESZAKSARKI ÚTJA (botom) .
