    Following World War I, the Allies assigned the formerly Hungarian province of Burgenland to Austria because of its proximity to Vienna and its predominantly German population. Hungarian irregulars were in occupation of the province, however, and refused to evacuate. Through Italian mediation, a plebiscite was held in December 1921. The district around Odenburg (Sopron) was awarded to Hungary and the rest of the province to Austria. During the Hungarian occupation, overprinted Hungarian stamps and a locally produced set were in use

    Image  2nd Issue: 19th September 1921. 9 stamps (catalogued in Michel Catalogue with No. 11/19. Overprint in black " A ZONA" and skill red and violet aniline. on the Hungarian stamps, harvesters, parliament. 
    Image  3st.Issue: 5th October 1921. 12 stamps (catalogued in Michel Catalogue with No. 20/31. Overprint in black " Lajtabansag Posta" and a row of triangles for to hide the name Magyar Posta.. on back printed "50% felar forsvarzag" on the Hungarian stamps, harvesters, parliament Magyar Katalogus indicate other stamp overprinted new price 3,50 korona (Inever see).
    Image  4st.Issue: 16th October 1921. 11 stamps (catalogued in Michel Catalogue with No. 32/42. Overprint in black "Felkelo Magyarok Eszaki Hadserege 1921"on the Hungarian stamps, harvesters, parliament, Madonna and revenues. 
    Image  5st.Issue: 10th October 1921. 19 stamps (catalogued in Michel Catalogue with No. 43/61). Overprint in black " Felkelo Magiarok Megszallit Nyugat-Mgyasrorzag"on the Hungarian stamps, harvesters, parliament.
    Image  6st.Issue: 2nd October 1921. 7 stamps (catalogued in Michel Catalogue with No. 62/68). Overprint in black Nyugat Magyarorzag Orszve Westungarn Orgland"on the Hungarian stamps, harvesters, parliament.
    Image 7st.Issue: 11th November 1921. 11 stamps + revenues 6 (catalogued in Michel Catalogue with No. 69/79, revenues 1/6). Issue whit new design and Lajtabaansg Posta. 
    Image  8st.Issue: (non issued) The country are annexed to Hungary in the 26th of November 11stamps ( not catalogued on Michel Catalogue, only in Hungary Katalogus with No. 87/97). Overprint in black "Soproni nepsavazas *1921* dec. 14"on the Hungarian stamps, harvesters, parliament.
    Image  9st.Issue:  (non issued) The country are annexed to Hungary in the 26th of November 6 stamps ( not catalogued in Michel Catalogue, only in Hungary Katalogus with No. 98/103). Depicting eagle "Turul".
