El alemán Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull) se ha proclamado campeón del mundo por segundo año consecutivo, tras acabar tercero en el Gran Premio de Japón. El británico Jenson Button (McLaren), hasta ahora el único piloto con opciones matemáticas de impedir el título de Vettel, ganó en Suzuka por delante del español Fernando Alonso (Ferrari) y del propio piloto germano.
